Asa Branca (White Wing)

This work is part of my series in which I explore Brazilian identity by translating musical compositions into visual artworks.

Created as a tribute to Luiz Gonzaga, Asa Branca evokes the drought, the harshness of the sertão, and the collective memory of the São João festivities. Inspired by one of the most emblematic songs in Brazilian music, the work reflects themes of resilience, longing, migration, and the deep relationship between people and the land.

Through its visual language, the piece transforms the song's narrative into imagery, inviting viewers to experience the emotional and cultural landscape of Brazil's Northeast beyond the musical realm.
